Israel's real Crime is in its Existence
'I arrived in Israel 40 years ago. It took me many years to understand that
the very existence of my country, as it is today, is based on an ongoing
ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. The project started many years ago. Its
seed can be traced to the basic fallacy of the Zionist movement, which set
out to establish a Jewish-national state in a location already inhabited by
another nation. Under these conditions, one has, at most, a moral right to
strive for a bi-national state; establishing a national state implies, more

Ben Gurion University - The latest anti-Israel diatribe by Neve Gordon (Dept
of Political Science) in the anti-Semitic magazine "The Nation"
There is something extremely cynical about how Israel explains its use of
humanitarian assistance, and yet such unadulterated explanations actually
help uncover an important facet of postmodern warfare. Not unlike raising
animals for slaughter on a farm, the Israeli government maintains that it is
providing Palestinians with assistance so that it can have a free hand in
attacking them. And just as Israel provides basic foodstuff to Palestinians
while it continues shooting them, it informs Palestinians--by phone, no
less--that they must evacuate their homes before F-16 fighter jets begin
bombing them.

Hebrew University - Nurit Peled-Elhanan (Dept. of Education) - Maariv Editor
Denounces Hebrew University Professor as anti-Semite and Traitor
While almost all Israeli journalists coddle the leftist anti-Zionist
academics at Israeli universities and pander to their treason, praising them
as courageous moral role models, Ben Dror Yemini, the deputy editor of
Maariv, is a notable and heroic exception. While a bit left of center in his
own personal outlook, he nevertheless is willing to call a leftist spade a
spade and often is willing to call a leftist spade a traitor. He has
frequently attacked leftist seditious Israeli Jewish professors by name. ...
Yemini viciously attacks Elhanan-Peled in his column on Dec 26. It can be
read in Hebrew here. Significantly, Yemini explicitly calls her an
anti-Semite and a traitor in his column. I translate the relevant parts for

University of Haifa - Avraham Oz (Dept of Comparative Literature) applauds
role in charges of fictitious "War Crimes" brought against IDF Officers.
Also laments the recent transparency to previously "privileged secrecy of
proceedings" that allows for "administrators to get rid of faculty".
This is my country:
Where conscientious citizens objecting to atrocities perpetrated in their
name by generals, officers, and soldiers in active service and reserves, are
pursuing their bringing to international justice for war crimes, since the
Israeli justice system shuns its moral obligations. And where such citizens
are threatened by a senior Likud MP Steinitz (a former colleague at my
university - where else?) who attempts to legislate a "treason law,"
remindful of dark ages, whereby such conscientious citizens will be
prosecuted and serve jail for their initiative.
This is my country:
Where a university, where classes on democracy are given, is opening a
military program of studies for intelligence cadets to study on campus in
uniform, appropriating a whole section of the students dormitories (far from
answering the needs of Arab and needed Jewish students), to become military
quarters of sorts (you guessed right, my own university); while still not
recognizing the elected Arab students committee (representing about 20% of
the students), nor the demand to put signs in Arabic (an official language
in Israel) on campus, closing down its theatre for mounting plays in Arabic,
or forbidding a Christmas tree to be placed near a HANUKKA lamp while the
two religious holidays concur; and rather, using its dwindling budget to
hiring private law firms to prepare the legal grounds why NOT to put such
signs in Arabic, or to dispute a recent court ruling preferring transparency
to privileged secrecy of proceedings (which grant immunity to administrators
to get rid of faculty far from the public eye).

Tel Aviv University - Ran HaCohen's (Dept of Comparative Literature) attacks
Ben Dror Yemini and Maariv Newspaper
But Taub's demagoguery fades compared to Ben-Dror Yemini's (an Israeli
Daniel Pipes) in Ma'ariv. In a column titled "The Most Justified Offensive
Ever" (miraculously, the very words used by his Ha'aretz twin Ari Shavit for
the Lebanon War just two years ago), Yemini draws a straight line from
Hitler to Hamas (no coincidence they both start with an H, just like
Hezbollah, Saddam Hussein, and Hemorrhoids), and explains that "Since the
Nazi ideology [.], no movement has been as dangerous to world peace as
political Islam." My apologies for quoting this trash; we need an Israeli
demagogue to instrumentalize the Holocaust, and Yemini was born for such
dirty jobs.
(Israel's policy is) 'The damage to the civil population should be
maximized, because the worse the humanitarian crisis is, the better and the
sooner the operation would end. It's the same major-general, by the way, who
just a year ago caused outrage by urging the Israeli government to negotiate
directly with Hamas. Do not to look for consistency, integrity, or
intelligence where war criminals are involved.'

Oxford University - Avi Shlaim (Dept. of History) declares that Israel and
the US are "gangster states" over present Gaza action
The only way to make sense of Israel's senseless war in Gaza is through
understanding the historical context. Establishing the state of Israel in
May 1948 involved a monumental injustice to the Palestinians. British
officials bitterly resented American partisanship on behalf of the infant
state. On 2 June 1948, Sir John Troutbeck wrote to the foreign secretary,
Ernest Bevin, that the Americans were responsible for the creation of a
gangster state headed by "an utterly unscrupulous set of leaders". I used to
think that this judgment was too harsh but Israel's vicious assault on the
people of Gaza, and the Bush administration's complicity in this assault,
have reopened the question.

Hebrew University - Political scientist Zeev Sternhell denounces "Colonial
Zionism"
'Now we also have colonial Zionism, based on ethnic and religious
inequality, which considers itself the exclusive emissary of Jewish history.
The Divine promise and not the natural rights of human beings to freedom,
independence and self-government is, in its eyes, the one and only source of
legitimacy for the return of the Jews to the Land of Israel. According to
this viewpoint, the land belongs not only to living Jews, but to all the
past generations and those yet unborn; therefore, members of the present
generation have no right to share possession of the land with members of
another nation....In Hebron a situation has been created that is a national
