We Demand some Investigations Now!

 Investigate This!

Some Important Investigations:

President Pervez Musharraf has just announced that he will be investigating thoroughly who was behind the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

This is a very important and very impressive development. We thought this should be added to several other important investigations that should be immediately initiated:

  1. Abu Mazen should set up a commission to see if there are any Holocaust Deniers among Palestinians.
  2. The Hamas should set up a commission to see if there are any terrorists operating out of Gaza or shooting al-Qassam rockets into Israel.
  3. Ehud Olmert should set up an investigation to see who was responsible for Israel's total failure in the war against Hizbollah in the summer of 2006.
  4. Ilan Pappe can set up an investigation to see if any academics lied about Israelis supposedly conducting massacres of Arabs.
  5. Ben Gurion University can investigate if there are any Israeli schools that have trashed academic standards for the purpose of hiring and promoting anti-Israel leftist extremists.
  6. Haaretz can investigate if there are any treasonous journalists employed in the Israeli media.
  7. Bill Clinton can investigate if there is any hanky-panky taking place in America.
  8. Norman Finkelstein can investigate whether there are any Neo-Nazi pseudo-scholars who have been serving as professors in the Chicago area.
  9. Counterpunch magazine can investigate whether there are any pro-terror Stalinists in America.
  10. Michael Lerner can investigate to see if there are any frauds impersonating Rabbis walking around.
  11. Barry Chamish can investigate to see if there are any mentally unstable people in the "911 Truth" cult of conspiracy theorists.
  12. Reform "Rabbi" Eric Yoffie can investigate whether there are any American Jews endangering and undermining Israel.
  13. Arthur Waskow can investigate if there are any Jews who smoke dope.
  14. OJ can investigate who REALLY killed his ex-wife!

4.  NOT an April 1 Spoof:

For "Land Day (March 31)" each year Israeli Arabs take to the street to show their contempt for Jews and their open identification with the enemies of Israel.  This year the "Land Day" demonstrators in the Galilee town of Sakhnin carried large portraits of Nasrallah, the head of the Hezb'Allah.  Among the leaders of the demonstration was Prof. Gadi Algazi, head of the general history department at Tel Aviv University.  You may recall him as one of the organizer sof Stalinism Day at Tel Aviv University (see this:  http://www.isracampus.org.il/third%20level%20pages/TAU%20-%20Stalinism%20Day%20on%20campus.htm )

Ben Gurion University – Neve Gordon (Dept of Political Science) explains to the Ayatollahs how evil Israel is, in the Tehran Times. Iran is not anti-Semitic enough!

Boycott us, Gordon urges, "For the sake of our children, I am convinced that an international boycott is the only way to save Israel from itself."

Leftist anti-Israel Academics whine about "McCarthyism" and about Isracampus

Hardly a week goes by here without the claim, usually by groups on the Left, that people are being silenced and censored by McCarthyism. In an October 2009 article, Benjamin Pogrund claimed that university groups such as Isracampus and Israel Academic Monitor were attacking leftist professors in "classic McCarthyite style." David Newman of Ben-Gurion University has written that "the academic McCarthyism of the right endangers Israeli democracy and society. It threatens the very basis of freedom of speech."

Hebrew University - Nurit Peled-Elhanan (Dept. of Education) announces plans to go into mourning for Israel's existence

All these things I will mourn on Nakba Day. I will join the millions of dispossessed, downtrodden and humiliated who have not given up on the future and who still believe there is a chance, who stand as witnesses and as firebrands of the true human spirit.

I will mourn on Nakba Day in order to be worthy of them, so that my children will know which side I am on, and so that they too can believe there is a chance for hope and a future in which justice will prevail.

The Defaming Duo - Adi Ophir (Tel Aviv University) and Ariella Azoulay (Bar Ilan University) - Two Israel Bashers for the Price of One

Pick one of the duo and you will always find the other hopping aboard. Start with support for the Palestinian "right of return." Then calls for Israeli soldiers to refuse to serve in the "territories." Then branding Israel 'an Apartheid state.' Then calls for an academic boycott of Israel. Then denouncing all acts of retaliation by Israel. Then dismiss warnings about the intentions of Iran.

Anti-Zionist petitions and articles always bear their two signatures. The duo of Adi Ophir and Ariella Azoulay seem to share everything, from a household to "books" churned out for the anti-Israel Far Left. They offer you…

IsraCampus Nepotism Update:
No sooner was Ariella Azoulay (one of the two members of the Defaming Duo described here) turned down for tenure at Bar-Ilan University when she was hired as an adjunct lecturer in the Faculty of the Arts at Tel Aviv University, the school where the other member of the Duo, her husband Adi Ophir, happens to be employed. Since universities in
Israel generally do not employ married spouses in the same institution, IsraCampus invites the official heads of Tel Aviv University to explain this curious arrangement.

Hebrew University - Nurit Peled-Elhanan (Dept. of Education) celebrates the Murderers of her Own Daughter

Peled El-Hanan really admires their [Israeli children] killers, and thinks we all need to feel sympathy for the murderers of Jewish children, because their deaths are all Israel's fault.

ALEF Anti-Semites declare war on Passover: Anti-Semitic pastor Peter Attwood (attwoods@earthlink.net) denounces Israel for celebrating Passover on "ALEF" posted on 30 March 2010

Subject: Re: [alef] Fw: Passover and other triumphs for freedom

"The blasphemy of Israel celebrating this in the very act of walking in the way of Pharaoh, and even as they express the same demographic fear, is pretty breath-taking. If you want to sit in the seat of Pharaoh and do his deeds, the decent thing is to abstain from celebrating the freedom you want to deny to others. This memorial is not given to the cruel."

ALEF Anti-Semites declare war on Passover: Shraga Elam (shraga.elam@gmail.com), ex-Israeli living in Switzerland and self-confessed admirer of Holocaust Denier David Irving, posted on ALEF on 30 March 2010

Re: [alef] Fw: Passover and other triumphs for freedom

"The hate in the Haggadah text is so fundamental that you can't overlook it. It is just like rewriting history. It is no coincidence that those like Hanna Beit-Halachmi, Yael Korin, Uri Davis and me, to name just few, who are asking what is exactly being celebrated are considered by the Haggadah's authors as "wicked" and by you as persons burned by hate. ... The exodus story points out at a terrible problem and that is that the liberation from slavery or from oppression if dictated by hate leads to committing new injustices atrocities. This is the most important lesson of the exodus story. This problem is of course immanent for the Zionism, though Zionism never bothered itself with offering a real liberation for Jews."

Ran Greenstein, (rangreen@sn.apc.org) ex-Israeli sociologist in South Africa, posted on ALEF on 07 March 2010

Palestinians were ethnically cleansed in 1948 irrespective of the fact that some engaged in armed activities and others did not, some opposed partition and others stayed out of politics, some were cleansed in the course of battle and others were expelled during periods of cease-fire or truce, as late as the early 1950s. All of them - regardless of the circumstances of their flight/expulsion - were prevented from returning to their land AFTER the war had ended. Morris is clearly aware of all that, though this is unlikely to deter the useless idiots of Israeli propaganda: "As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly", Proverbs, 26:11...

Re: Israel is an Apartheid State

As far as I am concerned even if we take the "Least persecuted" Palestinian sub-population, that is, the regular Israeli citizens, perhaps including the now 300,000 Present Absentees, there is sufficient evidence to apply to them the label of "Victims of Apartheid" and I am not using a large scale magnifying glass to make this contention. Why do these necessitate the usage of the term Hafrada and why is this term a more accurate depicter of their predicament is beyond me. Weizman, with a very good article, did not succeed in convincing me of the heuristic value of this term.

Re: Israel is an Apartheid State

Apartheid was the Afrikaans word used by the government of South Africa to describe its policy of maintaining the supremacy of Whites over non-Whites. Hafrada is the Hebrew word used by the government of Israel to describe its policy of maintaining the supremacy of Jews over Gentiles.

[alef] "Israel and Apartheid: Is It a Fair Comparison?"

The"ongoing Nakba" is caused by Israel's system of institutionalized racial discrimination which is composed of laws, policies and practices that have resulted in second-class citizen status of Palestinians, more land confiscation, discriminatory development planning, segregation of Palestinian communities, home demolitions and forced evictions, in order to ensure Jewish privilege and domination. Forcible displacement of Palestinian citizens continues as result, in particular in the Naqab (Negev), the Galilee and in towns with a 'mixed' Jewish and Palestinian population. Every aspect of Palestinian citizens' life is affected by Israel's system of institutionalized racial discrimination, including an education system that has worked to deprive Palestinian students of knowledge of their history and identity.

Dorothy Naor (dor_naor@netvision.net.il) posted on ALEF on 19 December 2009

[alef] Sign stolen, Berlanty Azzam, film maker's award returned, Sheikh Jarrah, and a link to a video

However, the theft of the sign pales given Israel's own immoral insensitive behavior towards Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah as well as towards those who care and come to demonstrate against Israel's acts, not to mention the continuous land theft and other colonial and occupation acts, including the night raids in Bil'in and Ni'lin. Given these, Israel's indignation and anger seem out of place....

Also on another account the indignation seems out of place. Israel is extraordinarily sensitive to Holocaust symbols, even though some of its own are similar in kind. For instance, at the entrance to Bethlehem, now a ghetto surrounded by a wall, there is hanging on that ghetto wall, next to a lookout tower that could serve as well for a sniper's post, a sign from the top of the wall to the bottom (8 meters, i.e., 25 feet) reads: "Peace be with you" and is signed by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.

When my spouse and I first saw it, we turned to one another and instinctively, with no prior discussion, uttered at one and the same time, 'arbeit macht frei.' We had not been to Auschwitz. But we had been to other camps--Teresenstadt (when researching the fate of his maternal grandparents) and on another occasion to Dachau. Both had the identical sign: "Arbeit macht frei," a saying that can be quite reasonable if (as a German friend pointed out), you are trying to find something positive to suggest to a person who is despondent, but chilling and brutal in a slave-labor and death camp.

So also the sign at the entrance to Bethlehem—quite pleasant sentiment, and appropriate to the city where Jesus was born, but not on the wall of a ghetto. Today not even the Magi could get to the manger. Not only the wall would prevent them, but also Israeli soldiers would stop them unless they could produce permits.
