You thought Ben Gurion University had hit bottom? Not yet!

Maariv today May 7, 2010 reports that BGU is about to give an honorary doctorate to a "transgendered" person who is a male that had surgery to make himself look like a woman and now calls himself/herself/itself Martine Aliana Rothblatt. The surgery was done to him 16 years ago. Rothblatt seems some sort of satellite communications scientist. Martine was married to a woman before the surgery and had 4 children. He/she/it then STAYED married to that wife AFTER the surgery, so I guess now they live as a "lesbian" couple.

Maariv prefers to refer to "her" with the female pronoun rather than with the more correct he/she/it that I have used here!

Oh by the way, Rothblatt is a leading advocate of making Israel and "Palestine" into two states within the United States. Where Israel would cease to be a separate country.

Don't use the lady's room at BGU during the Board of Governors assembly!
